The number of stream credits you will need to offset the streams you will impact is calculated by first determining the type of stream impacted and then multiplying the amount of stream impact (measured in linear feet) by the mitigation ratio(s).
Perennial stream impacts are mitigated at a ratio of 1 credit per linear foot of impact. Intermittent impacts are mitigated at a ratio of 0.5 credits per linear foot of impact. Ephemeral impacts are mitigated at a ratio of 0.17 credits per linear foot of impact.
When mitigating for stream impacts within Daisy Mitigation Bank’s Secondary Service Area, the amount of mitigation credits calculated must be multiplied by a factor of 1.5. When mitigating for stream impacts within the bank’s Tertiary Service Area, the amount of mitigation credits calculated must be multiplied by a factor of 2. When mitigating for stream impacts within the bank’s Primary Service Area, no additional ratio is required.
Stream mitigation credits will be sold in 1-foot increments with credits rounded up to the nearest foot. The cost of credits is determined by multiplying the number of stream credits needed by the agreed upon cost per credit.
The wetland mitigation ratio in the Primary Service Area is a 1:1 FCU ratio. When mitigating for wetland impacts within the bank’s Secondary Service Area, the amount of mitigation credits calculated must be multiplied by a factor of 1.5. When mitigating for wetland impacts within the bank’s Tertiary Service Area, the amount of mitigation credits calculated must be multiplied by a factor of 2. When mitigating for wetland impacts within the bank’s Primary Service Area, no additional ratio is required. In instances where an HGM assessment is not conducted for the wetland(s) proposed for impacts, surrogate FCU values negotiated by the client with the USACE will be assigned to determine the amount of mitigation needed.
